The reason it’s so good at one specific angling technique, bucktailing fluke, is that john skinner, the vito corleone of fluke bucktailing, has personally tested this rod until his hands bled. Then tested it some more. We went through quite a few individual prototypes until the final design was agreed upon. The result is a bounce casting rod that was scientifically designed to snap bucktails up off the bottom aggressively while still allowing the rod to give a major assist during hookset – loading pressure down the blank to the reel seat. This has been tough to find in off the shelf rods in previous years.
