"Trouble" is our first album with the band's new line up, Marx Loeb on drums and percussion and Danny Krieger on guitar and vocals (as well as founder Nancy McCallion on vocals, guitar and penny whistle, Dan Sorenso. The CD (CD only, no cassettes) includes 10 Nancy McCallion originals (including a remake of longtime Mollys fave "This Is My Round")and a Danny Krieger song ("Piggyback Rider" co-written with Duke McVinnie). Musically, it's all over the place (you could make a case for influences including folk, country, rockabilly, reggae and, of course, a bit of Celtic.)
"Only A Story" is our latest studio recording and includes 11 new Mollys originals, as well as a remake of "Come On With Me" and our surfy take on the traditional instrumental "Youngest Daughter." Guest players include Austin fiddle hotrod Darcie Deaville, Tucson pedal steel master Steve English, Tucson's world class mariachi trumpeter Ruben Moreno and the awesome pipes of Lisa "The Voice" McCallion.
A Special Limited Edition DOUBLE CD done for our 1999 Australian and New Zealand Tour including all of "Moon Over The Interstate" most of "Hat Trick" and five cuts from "This is My Round." "Wankin' Out West" is a live recording, raw and relentless, made during the band's wild New Year's Eve show at the Southwest Center for Music. The album, a collection of Mollys originals and a couple of non-traditional covers of traditional songs and tunes, is a bit rough, but full of life. You get everything except the sweat and the cover charge. It's a bargain, too. We'll send you one for just $12 ($17 Canadian), and that includes shipping. Included on the live album are: "Kathleen," "Mari's Wedding/Donegal Highlands," Ni Por Mil Puñados del Oro," "All Around My Hat," "Hat Rick," "Old Woman's Lament," "Paddy On The Swing Pipe," "Foggy Dew," "Finnegan's Wake" and "La Llorona."
"Hat Trick" (Apolkalips Now, 1997) has gathered nothing less than enthusiastic reviews. It was in its third pressing after only only a few months. What are you waiting for? That music magazine with all the pouting movie stars on the cover to review it? You're kidding, right?
"This Is My Round" (Apolkalips, 1995) contains 14 songs, all Mollys originals with the exception of two tradiontal tunes given new lyrics by Nancy McCallion. This album put the band on the map, and on the road. "Round" got national and international play, the first exposure to The Mollys by listeners outside Arizona. "Round" contains several songs which are still in the band's repertoire, including "Kathleen," "El Viejo Rico," "El Primero Beso," "On We Go," "Johnny Will You Cross," "Walking Down the Road," "Old Woman's Lament," and of course, "This Is My Round." The album features guest appearances by legendary Irish musicians Mick Moloney (banjo and mandolin) and Eugene O'Donnell (fiddle). P.S. For those of you looking for the story of the haunted haggis, a Mollys holidy mainstay, it's on "Round" too. "Round" is available on CD and cassette tape.
"Tidings of Comfort & Joy," (1992), the band's first CD, has gone out of print, as has its first recording, "Old Woman's Lament," (1990) a cassette-only release.
